First Wave has added another Premier League club to its list of guest teams that the company will be hosting this July.
Swansea City, the Welsh club that has experienced an excellent first season in the English Premier League , will be playing two MLS teams,Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes, in the month of July.
The team will stay in Ventura County and use the training facilities of VC Fusion, and are also hoping to play one other game against the PDL side.
 

April 10 - Miglioranzi becomes a valuable addition to the First Wave agency side of the business

After a successful collegiate and professional career, Stefani Miglioranzi joins the First Wave family. He brings with him all the experience and contacts acquired through a career that has spanned 18 seasons: 4 in college - 1 at Iona College and 3 at St John's University, and 14 at the professional level - 8 in the English Football Leagues and 6 in Major League Soccer. A member of the 1996 National Championship team with St John's and the 2008 MLS CUP Champions - Columbus Crew, Stefani knows what it takes to win but will not compromise his integrity in the pursuit of winning. This makes him a perfect fit for our group, which places an emphasis on quality of service over anything else. Stefani possess a degree in Sports Administration from St John's University, is a licensed USSF coach, and speaks 4 languages - Portuguese, English, Spanish, and Italian.

US goalkeeper and First Wave client,Neal Kitson,made an heroic debut for English League team,Northampton Town, against promotion hopefuls ,Crewe Alexandra, on Saturday.
Kitson,the former Rochester Rhinos player, made a series of excellent saves, capped by a splendid injury time penalty stop to deny Crewe the three points.

Apr 1 - First Wave is pleased to announce that once again the company will be bringing  an EPL team to the US for its pre-season preparation - Aston Villa

Aston Villa has signed off to play three exhibition games against MLS opposition in July.
Philadelphia,Chicago and Portland will all host this famous English team.
This is the second time that First Wave has brought the Villa squad Stateside, and the trip brings the number of Premier League teams that First Wave has arranged US tours for into double figures over the past ten years.
With the addition of several Mexican teams , the game and training schedule put together by the company ensures its continuous top standing in this particular segment of the sports marketing spectrum.

Mar 12 - Former English professional,Terry Cooke, has joined First Wave as recruitment representative on a nationwide basis.

Terry had a playing career spanning over twenty years which included Manchester United,Manchester City,Sheffield Wednesday and Colorado Rapids.
One of the very few footballers to play for both Manchester clubs, at a combined cost in excess of $4million,Terry brings a wealth of experience and a great knowledge of the game to the First Wave scouting staff.
Having played on three continents, culminating in five years with the Rapids. it is evident that his enthusiasm and solid contact base will ensure that we are able to continue offering players of every standard and nationality, a chance to progress their careers.
 

Mar 1 - First Wave is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin Weinress to the First Wave Staff

Kevin will enhance our comprehensive scouting and recruitment service across the spectrum of college and youth soccer , not only on the west coast, but also nationally.
His experience will ensure that prospective players are identified and given the opportunity to progress to the highest professional level. Kevin Weinress has been involved in the NCAA College Game for many years, recruiting and coaching multiple All-American and Professional players. Weinress has coached three M.A.C. Hermann Award Finalists and several U.S. National Team Players. Weinress, winner of the California South Youth Soccer Humanitarian Award for his work in the South Central Los Angeles Community, was also a Staff Coach with the California South Olympic Developmental Program, where he won a National Championship in 2005.

Feb 17 - MLS teams enjoy Ventura and Fusion hospitality

Once again VC Fusion in conjunction with First Wave hosted several teams at the excellent training and playing complex in Ventura County.
The programme spanned two weeks during which time the MLS teams played against Fusion and also against each other.
Fusion never conceded a goal in any game,and managed a 1-0 win against Chivas.
Chivas,Colorado,Chicago, Houston and San Jose enjoyed fine weather and a first class facility that continues to grow in reputation.

Feb 16 - Scottish International midfielder,Barry Robson,has signed a pre-contract with Vancouver Whitecaps in a deal brokered by First Wave President,Graham Smith.

Talks with Robson's UK agent,Eamonn Collins had been ongoing for several weeks and finally culminated in the capture of the Middlesbrough  dynamo.
An extremely adaptable and energetic player, with an eye for goal,Robson should certainly add his valuable club and international experience to the attractive looking squad that is being assembled by new Whitecaps coach,Martin Rennie.
 

Jan 5 - Agent Martin Saavedra has succeeded in concluding the deal to bring exciting Panamanian international striker,Blas Perez, to MLS club, Dallas F.C.

Perez, who is arguably one of the best strikers from the CONCACAF region should provide the team with much needed goal power as it goes in search of success in the 2012 season.

 Danny Barrera the 21 yr old Colombian born player made his first team debut for Serbian Super League team, Spartak Subotic

Danny Barrera the 21 yr old Colombian born player made his first team debut for Serbian Super League team, Spartak Subotic, on Saturday last.
Barrera had been named as substitute for the last month,and finally received his chance to take part in a good win by the team that is now sitting in the top half of the table.

ATIBA HARRIS SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH VANCOUVER WHITECAPS

Agent Martin Saavedra was pleased to announce that a new and improved contract has been agreed and signed with the MLS club.

Said Martin, "Atiba decided to pass on options from Mexico and Scandinavia, in order to remain at his club of choice and embark on the 2012 season with renewed enthusiasm following his recovery from injury and subsequent surgery."

First Wave clients Sammy Ochoa and Danny Barrera have recently secured contracts with new clubs.

Agent, Martin Saavedra, negotiated for Ochoa to join MLS team Seattle Sounders, and Barrera has joined Serbian Super League club,Spartak Subotica, for a transfer fee that will eventually reach six figures if the player succeeds in achieving certain targets.

"It is entirely up to Danny to ensure that his goals are now met.He has a great opportunity at a fine club", said Saavedra.
 

Aug 14 - Joel Campbell, the Costa Rican U 20 starlet has pledged his future to English Premier League club, Arsenal, and has signed a multi year contract.

Scrutised by clubs from Russia, Serbia and England (Everton and Man Utd), Joel has been in superb form for both the U 20 and full national team.
Graham Smith, President of First Wave, said from Bogota that " Joel is surely the forerunner of several other young Costa Rican players who will be making their mark on the international stage, and we are very pleased to have identified his potential some time ago".
First Wave is active in the football market throughout the Americas, and is about to announce a joint cooperation agreement for further development throughout the region.
 

Aug 1 - Anton Peterlin, former VC Fusion midfielder signed contract for Walsall

Anton Peterlin, former VC Fusion midfielder, who signed for Everton and then transferred to Plymouth Argyle, has signed a one year contract for English Division One side Walsall.
Head Coach, Dean Smith, believes that the US born player can provide much needed bite and work rate in a team that has also been bolstered by the acquisition of several experienced league 1 campaigners.

July 27 - First Wave client, Michael Orozco,signs multi-year deal with Mexican Premier team,San Luis.

After spending last season on loan to MLS side Philadelphia Union, Michael decided that the pull of the Mexican league was too great, and has now made a long term commitment , during which time he hopes to get back in contention for a place in the US squad.

Sigi Schmid,Head Coach of Seattle Sounders, puts pen to paper and signs an extension to his existing four year contract----another sign of the stability and long term planning that has been a feature of the club's successful impact in MLS.

July 25 - West Bromwich Albion of the EPL, and South American giants,Independiente , have just completed their pre-season training stints and related exhibition matches

Each team spent ten days using the Ventura,CA training facilities and competed against VC Fusion, San Jose Earthquakes,Mexican team, Monterrey, and both had fine games against Portland Timbers--the latter games drawing over 35000 fans.
Club America was the third team to take part in an exhibition package that resulted in more than 100000 fans getting the chance to see the different styles of soccer from around the world.
WBA Head Coach,Roy Hodgson was quoted as saying; "without doubt, this has been my most enjoyable pre-season, and a great indicator of just how far the game has developed in the U.S."
